According to CNN, Cuomo's former assistant Brittany Commisso filed the suit with the Albany County Supreme Court on Wednesday, seeking damages for the "substantial personal injuries and economic loss plaintiff suffered."

In the filing, Commisso claims the politician made "unwelcome sexual advances" and made inappropriate "sexual comments" about her during her time working for him, which she believed she was "required to suffer to maintain her employment."

Commisso was one of the 11 victims who made similar allegations of sexual misconduct, which led to Cuomo resigning from office in August 2021.

Her suit was filed only days before the window for the state's Adult Survivors Act, which allowed sexual abuse victims to sue their abusers even if the statute of limitations on the claims had expired for one year, closed on Thursday at midnight.

The suit also comes shortly after Politico reported that multiple sources claimed that Cuomo has been floating the idea of running for mayor of New York City, as current mayor Eric Adams, who was also recently sued for sexual assault, is also being investigated by the FBI for financial-related misconduct.

Cuomo's attorney, Rita Glavin, described the claims in the suit as "provably false," adding, "Ms. Commisso's transparent attempt at a cash grab will fail. We look forward to seeing her in court."
