Man catches toddler falling from sixth floor of building in viral video

Tongxiang, China - A viral video captured a man incredibly catching a toddler after she accidentally fell from the sixth floor window of a building in the city of Tongxiang, China.

According to the South China Morning Post, 31-year-old Dong was just parking his car before starting his workday at the local bank on the morning of July 19 when he spotted something fall from a window of the residential building across the street.

Dong raced across the street alongside another witness, calling the police on his way as he quickly realized the mystery shape was actually a two-year-old girl.

With a loud bang, she landed hard on the roof of a business below and was about to slide off another few feet onto the pavement before her rescuer caught her.

CCTV footage of the incident was upload to Twitter last Friday by China’s foreign ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijiang with the caption "Heroes among us."

Shen rushed the child to the hospital. She sustained injuries to her legs and lungs from the fall, but is now in stable condition. As Dong pointed out to the , things could have been much worse.

"To be honest, I cannot remember the details," he explained. "It was just instinct to reach out to her. It was lucky I made it in time. Otherwise, I would feel absolutely horrible."

Shen Dong also shared that he has two kids of his own: "I don't want to see any children get hurt."
