Taylor Swift's high school classmate spills the tea: "Most people hated her"

Nashville, Tennessee - Has Taylor Swift dealt with other's envy and jealousy from a young age? According to her former classmate, she has – and the TikToker claims it's made Taylor a "petty b**ch."

In a now viral TikTok video, Jessica McLane claims she went to the same high school as Taylor Swift. She even posted a follow-up vid with receipts to prove the story.

In the clip, which has racked up more than 7 million views, McLane reminisces about her time at Hendersonville High School in Nashville in 2006.

"So, I went to the same high school as Taylor Swift. We grew up in the same town," McLane said in the video. "When she started becoming super successful, most people hated her. Keep in mind, these are peers, this isn't just random people on the internet."

"Jealousy was definitely a thing," McLane explained in another video. "Plus, the 16-, 17-year-olds that were trying to have a career in music at Hendersonville were playing downtown or maybe at the local coffee shop, not winning awards," like Taylor.

"It's not that these people weren't talented; it's just that most people don't make it. And I won't lie, back then, she didn't have as good of control over her voice as she does now. So, there were a lot of people in high school who were, vocally, a lot better. But they weren't Taylor Swift," the 30-year-old said.

Yet, she didn't stop spilling the tea there.

As time went on and Taylor landed her first big hits as a teenager, she left high school to be homeschooled. McLane revealed that some male classmates weren't thrilled with the Anti-Hero singer when they heard her tunes.

"The guys she was writing these songs about, they were still in school. They were still there, and now they have a hit song about themselves where Taylor sings about what sh*tty boyfriends they were."

McLane went on to reveal that in 2009, Swift invited the high school's entire senior class to the Country Music Association Awards, where she won four awards.

She went on to say that Swift's decision to drop Midnights on the birthday of Kim Kardashian led her to rethink the artist's intentions behind the 2009 invite.

For those who may have forgotten, Swift infamously feuded with Kardashian and her then-husband Kanye West in 2016. The beef led to so much backlash for Swift that she went into hiding before emerging stronger with her Reputation era, reclaiming the insults thrown at her and using them to her advantage.

With this in mind, McLane realized that the singer was, as Swift herself would say, on her "vigilante sh*t."

"She invited us to the CMAs to say 'F**k you,' and we deserved it. So to Taylor, touché. That was good," McLane said.

Looks like Swift may have always been quite the mastermind.

In the follow-up clip, McLane showed off her yearbook featuring several photos of a young T-Swift, as proof of their shared school days.
