Publisher Square Enix and developer studio Deck Nine re-released Life Is Strange on February 1.

The main selling point of the LIS games, which were originally developed by DONTNOD Entertainment, is their story and the extremely powerful feels they subject you to.

Fans and critics were so stoked about the game's emotional rollercoaster ride that the game won the Best Story BAFTA award in 2016.

In the first game, you play through a visual novel adventure in the shoes of a photography senior, Max, who can rewind time.

Replaying this game or trying it for the first time is a delight, but the game packs a hefty emotional punch. Well, it's more like an entire barrage of highs and lows.

This was left unchanged in the remastered version, so if you haven't played the originals yet, they are definitely worth nabbing.

But for those who've already been there and done that, there's no getting around a simple fact: there's no big difference compared to the original game. This isn't really an upgrade, especially since the visual changes are nothing to rock the gaming world.

Given the fact that you can get Life Is Strange Episode One and Two for free on Steam, it's pretty hard to justify forking out $40 for the re-release.

The atmosphere in the Life Is Strange series works with or without tiny changes to character renders, so why drop your hard-earned cash on a remaster that isn't a big improvement?
