Cats, dogs, and tons of other animals have made us laugh so hard we've spit out our coffee more than a few times in 2022.

There was even a cat clip that made us feel a bit bad about our love for animals in costume.

Without a doubt, 2022 was a stellar year for hysterical animals. TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram were all full of beasties being their best selves and making us laugh in the process.

Here are a few flashbacks to some of our favorite viral animal videos in 2022. We guarantee you'll be crying with laughter or at least chuckling over the cuteness.

1. The cat that accidentally goes for a swim

They say that curiosity killed that cat. Luckily for this feline, its curious interest only led to an accidental swim!

All we have to say is, "Aww!"

2. The cat that couldn't get in!

Have you ever tried with all your might to push open a door to no avail, only to realize that if you'd tried to pull, it would have flung open?

This confused cat tried to paw its way into an open door, but the poor critter didn't realize it was already ajar.

3. Dog dressed as Chucky

Animals in costume are always killer.

But this TikTok vid of a French bulldog named TJ in his Chucky Halloween costume for spooky season had us both creeped out and laughing.

We never though Chucky could look so harmless!

4. The Dalmation that'd had enough

Everyone seems to think it's cats that lash out once they've had enough, but this Dalmatian's reaction to his little sibling's constant yapping went viral because of his ridiculous reaction. Talk about biting someone's head off!

5. Fritz the hippo's barrel rolls

The Cincinnati Zoo's bloat welcomed a new baby this year, and thanks to the public's votes, named it Fritz.

This little hippo has multiple viral hits and his cuteness is hysterical – as are his barrel rolls.

Hopefully, 2023 will be filled with even more animals making mistakes and hysterically unleashing their rage.
