Kanye West shuts down his Donda Academy as he posts about eye-popping losses
Los Angeles, California - Kanye West has shut down his Donda Academy amid the immense fallout over his antisemitic comments.
Amid the ongoing backlash over his racist tirades, Ye's private institution has temporarily closed its doors for the remainder of the 2022-23 school year.
According to The Times, the principal of the Christian school, Jason Angell, emailed the parents of the students informing them of the immediate shut-down and plans to "start afresh" in Spring 2023.
"Our leadership team will be working diligently to assist all families during this transition, ensuring that every scholar has what they need to succeed in their next community in a prompt and gracious manner," the email read.
The school year cancellation comes hot on the heels of the academy’s high-profile boys basketball team, the Donda Doves, being disinvited from two prestigious tournaments.
Per the Los Angeles Times, the organizers of the tournament said in a statement, "Kanye’s words and actions violate our values as a company and a country."
Ye West's remains unfazed by his crumbling empire
Yet despite all the toxic fallout, Ye still seems to be unapologetic for his actions.
The 45-year-old rapper retuned to Instagram on Wednesday evening to post a "love speech" to Ari Emanuel, the CEO of the talent agency giant Endeavor, who openly called for businesses to sever ties with the disgraced musician.
"Ari Emanuel. I lost 2 billion dollars in one day. And I’m still alive. This is love speech. I still love you. God still loves you. The money is not who I am. The people is who I am," the Hurricane artist's post read.
Currently, the erratic hip-hop mogul has been dropped by several major partnerships, including Adidas, CAA, Vogue, Balenciaga.
Even his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, publicly condemned his derogatory comments.
