The 33-year-old made the surprise announcement on Thursday morning, confirming a music video for Lavender Haze would be dropping at midnight.

Swift released music videos for two other Midnights tracks, Anti-Hero and Bejeweled, shortly after the album's release. However, fans speculated there was another waiting in the midst, as there were several clips from the album teaser that didn't appear in either video.

As usual, the Swifties were onto something with their eagle-eyed sleuthing, as the missing clips lined up with the preview for the Lavender Haze video.

But the video confirmation didn't stop Swifties from theorizing even further, of course, as some fans have noted the significance of this particular release date when it comes to one of her famous ex-boyfriends.

The video's release date has led many fans to believe Swift has channeled her usual mastermind tendencies.

Her ex-boyfriend John Mayer, who Swift dated between 2009 and 2010, previously teased fans about a big announcement coming on January 26.

Swift hasn't been shy about her hard feelings toward the 45-year-old musician, calling him out directly in the Speak Now track Dear John shortly after their split.

The Midnights track Would've Could've Should've is also heavily speculated to be about Mayer, with the lyrics referencing Swift's age at the time of their relationship. Mayer had been 31 at the time, while Swift was just 19.

Mayer followed through with an announcement on Thursday morning, revealing that he will embark on his first-ever solo tour. Swift's own news broke came just 15 minutes after that, so you be the judge.
