On Monday, director James Wan shared a simple Instagram picture confirming that production for Aquaman 2 is underway.

However, the news wasn't received well by Johnny's fans, who feel the actor has been slighted by Warner Bros studio.

Following the director's post, #JusticeForJohnnyDepp swiftly re-emerged, with users demanding once again that Amber be removed from the impending DC sequel.

Some harsh tweets referred to the Drive Angry star as an "abuser" and "liar" while also questioning her acting ability.

"So @wbpictures is still going to put Amber Heard in Aquaman 2 when her less than stellar acting skills could be replaced by anyone in Hollywood???," one tweet read.

"Amber Heard is still in Aquaman 2 when she physically and mentally abused her husband? And it’s on tape??? I’ll pass. #JusticeForJohnnyDepp," another user wrote.

Amber is set to portray Mera in the film, love interest of the titular character Aquaman, played by Jason Mamoa.

The intense media scrutiny that has followed Johnny and Amber's messy split has done severe damage to the Pirates of the Caribbean star's career.

At one point, Johnny was one of the world's highest-paid actors and most sought-after.

However, after his divorce and abuse accusations from his former wife, the actor has become "persona non-grata."

The star was asked to step down from the Fantastic Beasts franchise after his loss in a UK libel case that found allegations of his domestic violence to be "substantially true."

Since then, Johnny has remained out of the public eye, though it's clear his fans are dying for him to return to the spotlight.

As for Amber, the starlet has gotten flack after a video emerged where she is heard admitting to physically assaulting her former husband.

The two will have another upcoming court date in Fairfax County, Virginia in April 2022 over the op-ed Amber Heard wrote depicting the abuse she claimed to have endured by her ex-husband.

It continues the questions on everyone's mind: Is Johnny's career permanently damaged? Or will #JusticeForJohnnyDepp prevail?
