Following the October 7, 2023, attacks, Israel announced an all-out war on Gaza that continues to claim countless lives.

The Israeli Defense Forces have bombarded the tiny blockaded enclave, where over 2 million people live, with heavy artillery and drones, and launched broad ground invasions. Israel has killed over 60,000 people in Gaza since October 2023, though the real toll is likely to be far higher. Among the dead are mostly civilians, including women and children.

Gaza now faces an Israeli blockade on critical supplies, including food, water, medicine, and fuel. Established aid corridors have been attacked by Israeli bombardments and gunfire, killing many. Human rights organizations and aid workers have been largely barred entry into Gaza, as have outside journalists.

Israel's assault on Gaza has been called out by numerous human rights organizations and NGOs as genocide and ethnic cleansing, and key members of Israel's government have been accused of war crimes.

The US has backed the Israeli regime with a steady supply of military aid and diplomatic cover, sparking protests across the country. In response, the Trump administration has taken extreme measures to stifle Palestine solidarity activism, particularly on university campuses.
