A well-known supporter of Donald Trump, Santos has repeatedly denied the existence of police brutality, is vocally opposed to abortion, and has expressed a plethora of anti-trans views. He has for years refused to accept the results of the 2020 Presidential Election.
Santos served as a Congressman for less than a year before he was expelled in December 2023 following a damning investigation by the House Ethics Committee as well as a federal indictment. After pleading guilty to identity theft and wire fraud in August the following year, he was eventually sentenced to 87 months in prison.
